Ok, the show was a huge success but we have to go further and other projects are in my studio right now. Look forward to deliver my next pieces for the ab-straKt 373 show starting May 2 at Endeavor Arts Gallery, with a reception on May 3 from 5-9pm. Also my chair for the Airdrie “Airdirondack Art Project” is in my studio and the final piece of art will be a link to my sources of inspiration. Another problem I have is that there are so much ideas in my head that I almost have to make a planning about the sequence I want to do them. Started on the path of public art and a lot of my time will be consumed by developing these ideas. Also busy with a project together with a street art artist, but I like to keep that as a secret for now.

January 16, 2012 - Currently I am every day in my Studio busy to finish my first Solo project: The Collaboration Project 2012. It is an installation with 3 pieces, each over 8 feet wide. The Centre piece is over 8 feet high! The installation will be showed at Endeavor Arts Gallery (see Events page) from March 1 till March 31, 2012. There will be an opening Reception at March 1 from 5-9pm with Wine and Cheese! Hope you will come and enjoy us on this 1st Thursday. You can imagine that I am very excited and it is even better, it is also booked for other shows already (info later) and submitted to The Works Festival 2012.

Meanwhile also busy with our group ab-straKt 373 and our new submission to The Works Festival 2012. My paintings at Endeavor at the current exposition are receiving a lot of positive critics and I am proud of that, because I really like these paintings. Will start to make more submissions to get these paintings showed on other places as well. My work for my solo project, ab-straKt 373, Creative Airdrie and Volunteer Airdrie are keeping me so busy that updating of this site was delayed. My Studio is full now with paintings which are drying, so that was the possibility to make the updates to all the social media apps. Very good thing is that the artists and art scene in Airdrie is pretty busy and all kind of succesfull things are happening. So glad that I can be part of that movement.

October 29, 2011 - Started this year with a day sometimes being too short, than the week … and now the month is too short. Really want to “blog” more often, but have to make choices and also want to live a normal live. My Volunteer work for the ARTember Festival here in Airdrie took away all my available time from half of August, September and the 1st week of October. Needed to hang some shows during that period, but that was all I have done for my “Art career”. The next show at Endeavor Arts Gallery in Calgary will start November 8, 2011 and I needed to make 3 new paintings for that show. They are ready and can be seen in the Album “2011-2012″ at the Paintings page of this website. Have been working during the last months on a dream of me: making an installation of paintings. The subject of The Works Festival 2012 “Energy II: Collaboration” really made me think how you can do that solo and I found the answer (to my opinion). My dream of making an installation as an Artist is coming true next year! If I am really lucky the sponsor I approached will be helping me out with some necessary expertise on building the installation, but whatever they do: this is happening! Will do it together with the Blacksmith from ManukaForge Studio and their amazing fairytail chairs! All together this will be a Theater of Dreams with the title “The Collaboration Project 2012″. The opening of the show will be next year at the Endeavor Arts Gallery and is also invited to be part of a new huge Festival next year May/June at the Riverwalk in Calgary. It looks like the Installation is also going to The Works Festival 2012. So, beside the things I was already busy on, this will make the year 2012 unforgettable for me! So, enough for now, feet on the ground and keep working.

September 12, 2011 - Did my first life painting yesterday at 1st Street Festival in Calgary together with Endeavor Arts Gallery. It was great fun. People made the colour and method choices and I made a painting with these choices. Loved doing it and also the chat with the people was amazing. Will look for more possibilities to do this. Here you can see the result.

Currently very busy with organizing ARTember in my role as Volunteer Director of Creative Airdrie. ARTember is a citywide celebration of the Art & Culture in Airdrie with over 100 Events in 20 Venues. Will be part of the Splash Art Sale $ Show event on Friday night (amazing Launch party for ARTember – tickets available) and Saturday 10am-4pm.

August 22, 2011 - Time is going fast this year, a lot of things (which I really enjoy doing) are keeping me busy and if you look at the calendar you notice Summer is already long on his way. Taking care of paintings getting to their new owners, creating new ones, changing shows and moving around paintings between Galleries. It looks like the “hard work” is paying off and a lot of possibilities are showing up. Can also do something for other artists and having their work on the wall within businesses.

Another thing what is asking my attention is being Volunteer Director for the Creative Airdrie Society. We are very busy with organizing an event which started with the Alberta Art Days (3 days) end of September 2011. But we think this is not enough and changed the month of September to ARTember. Citywide celebration of the Arts in Airdrie with over 100 events from September 16 till October 2, 2011. Check out the website www.creativeairdrie.ca. I will be part of the event “Splash Art Sale & Show” on September 16 and 17 (see events page for information). Friday September 16 is the Launchparty of ARTember at this show and tickets are available for this amazing event.

July 7, 2011 - Already 5 (very busy) weeks ago from the last post, but lets try to update:

- As of June 15 Artsastray is also representing me and I am very happy with this co-operation. Today my piece “Dancer 3in1″ is installed at their location at the Calgary Tower and other work can be seen at their location in Arts Central.

- Because of the new representation by Artsastray I had to stop the show at Premiere Interiors to have work available.

- Our group ab-straKt 373 “Energy” show has have a great response during The Works Festival in Edmonton and we were very proud of showing our work to such a huge crowd (over 300.000 people). During my stay there I was very inspired and the organization of The Works is amazing. The Festival is over now, but our show will stay on the location (Sutton Place Hotel) till August 20, 2011.

- Already mentioned on June 1 (but like to repeat this): As you already know I have been invited to be part of another group show named “FOUR” @ Endeavor Arts Gallery starting June 2 till August 13, 2011. We had a great opening reception on June 4. Had to create four new paintings for this show and they are ready and on location. Go and check it out, there are some amazing Blacksmithing pieces as well.

- The pieces for the ab-straKt 373 “Double Standards” show are almost ready and the show will be installed on July 11 @ Holy Grill. Check it out and enjoy their amazing breakfast or lunch.

- Told you last time about Public Transport Airdrie using 2 of my paintings on their passes for the month of August 2011. Have to correct this a little bit, “Je Maintiendrai” will be used in November 2011 and “Steeplechase” will be used in January 2012. In total 24 pictures are being used for this project.

- Our ab-straKt 373 show has had a great show (for me very succesfull) in June at Resolution Gallery and it is now installed at Red Bloom North location till September 17. There are 4 new pieces of me in this show. Go check it out and use their amazing services.

June 1, 2011 - It has been a busy time, but so inspiring!

- Our group ab-straKt 373 has had a great opening @ Endeavor Arts Gallery with the “Energy” show and this show is now on its way to The Works Festival in Edmonton. After the Festival the show will stay there on that location till September 4, 2011. The Festival is amazing and if you can make it come visit and enjoy it (June 23 till July 5, 2011).

- As you already know I have been invited to be part of another group show named “FOUR” @ Endeavor Arts Gallery starting June 2 till August 13, 2011. We have an opening reception on June 4 from 4-8pm. Had to create four new paintings for this show and they are ready and on location. Please come by to be part of this amazing show.

- Currently we of ab-straKt 373 are very busy with the preparation of another show named “Double Standards” and it will start @ Holy Grill on July 11, 2011.

May 10, 2011 - I’m so excited! Have been invited to participate in another show at the Endeavor Arts Gallery this summer. It will be all about mixed media and I better start making some pieces for this show and a new upcoming show “Size Matters” from the group ab-straKt 373. Beside that I have been asked to do a comission piece, so ……. busy, busy, busy …….l

May 3, 2011 - The new show “Energy” from the group ab-straKt 373 has started, with a Reception on May 5, 5:00-8:00pm at Endeavor Gallery. Come and see this show before it is going to The Works Festival in Edmonton. During the reception there will be music, food and drinks, you have the possibility to paint on a canvas, but also to win door prizes! Check the Events page for details.

December 14, 2010 - Great news! Our group (ab-straKt 373) submission to participate in The Works Festival in Edmonton this coming summer is accepted! We will be showing 10 (may be 12) 3′ x 5′ canvasses during the festival June 25 – July 7. We are really excited to participate!

“2011 will be The Works’ 26th year, and is the largest festival of its kind in North America. The Works transforms public spaces throughout Edmonton’s downtown core into alternative galleries. Over the course of 2010’s festival, over 310,000 people from around the world enjoyed the sights and sounds of The Works. The Works Art and Design Festival provides a dynamic environment to advance the development, awareness and appreciation of the visual arts in Canada, and to develop a forum for the exchange of ideas between the artists and the public.”

November 17, 2010 - Our show of ab-straKt 373 “Red Blue Yellow Dialogues in 9 Sq Ft” is installed last Sunday (November 14) at Heartland Cafe, 825 – 1 Avenue NE, Calgary.

Did you know that the coffee is perfect, the food is amazing and the art is worth to be seen!

November 17, 2010 - My solo show @ Paradigm Health Group, 208 – 8180 Macleod Trail SE Calgary, with 16 of my paintings (including 7 new ones) is on the wall till the end of December. Go and check it out!

November 5, 2010 - October was very productive: finished 8 paintings. Meanwhile November started and I am working on other paintings. Very satisfying this production. The pictures of all new paintings will be added next week (because I forgot to take pictures and now have to travel to the shows to get them).

August 16, 2010 – Today I added 17 paintings to the website, yes, I’ve been amazing productive! Two series of 5 small paintings: Solid Blue Series 1 and Swinging Orange Series 1; One serie of 3 paintings: Obstacle 1, 2 and 3: and 4 “single” paintings: Waterfall, White Energy, Race 1 and Steeplechase. July 1, 2010 – Starting July 12 our group show “red blue yellow dialogues in 9 sq ft” will be at Holy Grill on 827 10 Avenue SW, Calgary until August 30,2010. After that the show will be changed with other paintings of our group members until November 1, 2010!
